Police in Search of 'Buckhead Bandit' in Atlanta

Atlanta Police are on the hunt for a man believed to be responsible for a string of armed robberies in the upscale Buckhead area of Atlanta.

Authorities are hoping someone can identify the man dubbed the "Buckhead Bandit," a man who casually walks into stores and restaurants, points a handgun at employees, and then demands cash. Police believe that the suspect has struck at least 10 times in less than a month.
There have been at least eight holdups at businesses along Peachtree Road and two in nearby Brookhaven according to the AJC.

Surveillance video from a recent January 18 robbery at a Subway restaurant shows the suspect entering the restaurant, demanding the cash, and placing a phone call before leaving.

"I heard the bell ring when somebody came in, but didn't pay much attention until he said 'Don't move,' and I was like, 'What are you talking about? Don't move?' And when I looked up, the gun was pointed in my face," Shaquandra Moore, the employee working at Subway told WSB-TV.

Moore claims that the man came back to order a sandwich less than a week later.

Police also believe the suspect could be connected to more crimes in DeKalb County.

Anyone with possible information on the robberies is asked to contact Atlanta Police at 404-546-4255 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
